BORN AGAIN! NOW WHAT?

WHAT EXACTLY HAPPENED TO YOU?

You have been delivered from darkness. You have just entered into a new and exciting life. You have just taken a step down a path that is going to bring you the abundant life.

Romans 10:9-13 That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame.” For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek, for the same Lord over all is rich to all who call upon Him. For “whoever calls on the name of the LORD shall be saved.”

WHAT IF I SIN?

I John was written by the apostle John. And in I John 1:9 it says, If WE confess OUR sins, He is faithful and just to forgive US OUR sins and to cleanse US from all unrighteousness.

Notice that the apostle John says, if WE confess OUR sins He is faithful and just to forgive US OUR sins and to cleanse US from all unrighteousness. Notice the apostle John put himself in this verse. He is acknowledging that sometimes he sins. And when he does, just like we should do, he confesses his sin(s) and he is forgiven. John the apostle sinned. Didn’t want to, didn’t enjoy it, but he did it anyway. And yet look what happens. He turns to God, asks for forgiveness and then moves on like nothing ever happened. This verse keeps us in the kingdom of God. You may find you will use it more than any other verse in the Bible. As you grow in the Lord, you will get stronger (able to resist sin). If you won’t give up, He won’t give up. He loved you enough to call you to Jesus when you were his enemy. Is He now going to disown you? That’s not GOD. HE LOVES YOU no matter what.

At some point in time you are going to have these thoughts: nothing has changed, you’re still the same person, it was just your imagination, folks always feel better after a good cry, you’ve made an idiot of yourself. These thoughts WILL come. When they do, you look at Romans 10:8-10,13 But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart” (not in your head), (that is, the word of faith which we preach): That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart (not in your head), that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart (not with your head) one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. 13 For “whoever calls on the name of the LORD shall be saved.” Doubt and fear come from your mind. Faith and love comes from your heart. When those thoughts hit you, open your Bible to Romans 10:9-10 and 13 and loudly say what it says. The Word of God is right. Anything that is contrary to it, is wrong. You can’t put faith in anything else.

TELL OTHERS IMMEDIATELY WHAT HAS HAPPENED TO YOU

Matthew 10:32-33 Therefore whoever confesses Me before men, him I will also confess before My Father who is in heaven. But whoever denies Me before men, him I will also deny before My Father who is in heaven.

Tell others what has happened to you. Tell them you have been saved, you have asked Jesus into your life, you’re born again, however you want to put it, TELL OTHERS! This changes your thinking from a sinner to a Christian.

READ THE BIBLE DAILY

Starting in the Gospel of John, read your Bible daily. Don’t start reading from the front of the Bible. It is not like any other book. The beginning of the Bible is the historical background of the world and how it all started. The New testament is for how to live day-to-day now. The gospel of John will give you a better idea about Jesus. Even though it is the fourth book of the New Testament, there are things in there that will help you to grow (become stronger) more quickly.

John 10:10 The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.

PRAY (TALK TO JESUS)

Pray (talk to Jesus) like you would any other friend. Nothing fancy. He is always listening (whether you think He is or not). I Peter 3:12 For the eyes of the LORD are on the righteous, and His ears are open to their prayers; but the face of the LORD is against those who do evil.”
