Men Superior to Women Cincinnati Christian BlogEphesian 5:22-24 “Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord.  For the husband is head of the wife, as also Christ is head of the church; and He is the Savior of the body. Therefore, just as the church is subject to Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in everything.”

Colossians 3:18-19 “Wives, submit to your own husbands, as is fitting in the Lord. Husbands, love your wives and do not be bitter toward them.”

1 Corinthians 14:34-35 “Let your women keep silent in the churches, for they are not permitted to speak; but they are to be submissive, as the law also says. And if they want to learn something, let them ask their own husbands at home; for it is shameful for women to speak in church.”

1Timothy 2:11-14 “Let a woman learn in silence with all submission. And I do not permit a WOMAN to teach or to have authority over a man, but to be in silence. For Adam was formed first, then Eve. And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived, fell into transgression.”

On the first reading of these scriptures it seems pretty clear, women are to submit to any male authority figure in the church. Unfortunately, due to a lack of understanding ancient Greco-Roman culture, many really don’t have a clue as to what is really being said here. In the Greco-Roman world of religions, much of the time the authority figure was FEMALE. If someone doesn’t understand this, it’s very difficult for them to know what was really going on.

Notice that Ephesians was addressed to the church in Ephesus. Also notice 1 Timothy was addressed to Timothy who at that time lived in Ephesus (1 Timothy 1:3). If you want a really good example of how serious the Ephesians were in their worship of their goddess Diana, just read Acts 19:23-40. In the Roman empire, the Romans really didn’t care who you worshipped. All they cared about was maintaining the peace. And they cared about maintaining the peace because no taxes could be collected if there was major uproar, and the Romans cared about the taxes. They did not tolerate, outside of Jerusalem, civil unrest. Aphrodite (protectress of the city) and Demeter (goddess of fertility) were two of the main goddesses worshipped in Corinth at the time that 1 & 2 Corinthians were written. If you’re really curious as to why these particular religions were so popular, you need to understand that as part of their “church” services they had strong wine laced with drugs and then had orgies all night long. Well, that’s one way to increase attendance. And they received a lot of donations too. Hmm, go figure.

Anyway, if someone is not aware of this they miss the entire idea behind what is being said. What was happening is simply this, women held high positions in their previous religions. When they became Christians they had the idea that they were supposed to have high positions of authority in this new religion. That’s not the way it works, at least not in true New Testament Christianity. You see religion is always trying to elevate one gender over another.

Now there will be some who will say, “Oh no. It’s very plain. Women are not to have any authority in the church.” Well, if that is true, they also should not be allowed to speak at all, should they? I mean it says very plainly to keep silent in the church. What does that mean? It means you can’t have women singers. It means you can’t have women teach Sunday School to children. I mean if you are going to be that literal, then that’s exactly what it’s saying. You can’t have it both ways. You either put tape on women’s mouth as they come into church or let’s just not allow them in at all. Sounds kind of silly doesn’t it? But that is the mentality of many in the “church”.

These next few sentences will really get that blood pressure up. In 1 Timothy 2:11, “Let a WOMAN learn in silence with all submission.” No talking ladies! Verse 12, “And I do not permit a WOMAN to teach or to have authority over a man, but to be in silence.” Correct me if I’m wrong, but aren’t boys considered to be males (Sunday School)? Verse 13, “For Adam was formed first, then Eve.” (Genesis 3:21-22 plainly states that the Lord God formed Eve out of the rib that He took out of Adam’s side. HE DID NOT TAKE THE GENETIC MATERIAL HE MADE EVE FROM THE HEAD OF ADAM OR FROM ADAM’S FOOT. Remember this was the way it was supposed to be before the fall. This was the original intent that God had for His offspring.) Verse 14, “And Adam was not deceived,..” in other words, Adam knew exactly what was going on. You can’t be deceived and at the exact same time know what going on. That’s the whole idea behind deception. “but the WOMAN being deceived,..” by a talking two legged serpent (there are a lot of “two legged talking serpents” still out there), “fell into transgression.” Really? According to Genesis 3:6-7, Adam was there all along listening to the entire conversation and then it says it wasn’t until AFTER Adam ate that THEIR eyes were opened. So if it was all Eve’s fault, why were their eyes opened after Adam ate, not just Eve’s. This just goes to prove how closely God intended these two human beings to be. Partners, not one over the other. Oh, and one other thing, Adam was the first human being to blame someone else for something he was responsible for (In other words he refused to be accountable for his actions. It was somebody else’s fault. That doesn’t happen today either.).

Adam blame Eve Cincinnati Christian Blog

In verse 12, here’s what he said to the Lord God, “The   WOMAN   whom   YOU   gave to be with me,   SHE   gave me of the tree, and I ate.” So apparently Eve forced Adam onto the ground and forced him to eat that fruit. Do you notice the way Adam is putting the blame on Eve and then on God? This was the beginning of the “God is in Control” religious belief system. At least Eve, unlike so many ministers, put the blame squarely where it belonged, ON THE SERPENT.

Now let’s deal with our modern culture. If these interpretations are true, then we have a tremendous problem. You’ll notice how many times the word “wives” comes up. Are we to believe that unless a WOMAN is married there is just no way in the world SHE can be accepted by God. In other words, if you are a single WOMAN, you’re out of luck. Are we really supposed to believe that in the eyes of God men are superior to women?

There is a basic rule to be followed when understanding the Bible, and the rule is simply this, “in the mouth of two or three witnesses let every word be established”. Or in other words, just like in a court of law, you gather all the evidence and compare each piece of evidence that proves a point either one way or the other. When there is more evidence on one side of a question then there is on the other side, the side with the more evidence decides the correct answer to the question. So, having said that, let’s look at all the scriptures that have to deal with this question. The question being, “Are men spiritually superior to women?”

We must always remember though, that New Testament (which is the new and better covenant), takes precedence over Old Testament (which is not a better covenant).

Difference Old Testatment New Testament

1 Corinthian 11:2-3 “Now I praise you, brethren, that you remember me in all things and KEEP THE TRADITIONS just as I delivered them to you. But I want you to know that the head of every man is Christ, the head of WOMAN is man, and the head of Christ is God.”

1 Corinthians 11:8-10 “For man is not from WOMAN, but WOMAN from man. Nor was man created for the WOMAN, but WOMAN for the man. For this reason the WOMAN ought to have a symbol of authority on HER head, because of the angels.” (But read verses 10-11)

Ephesian 5:22-24 “Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord.

Titus 2:3-5 “the older WOMEN likewise, that they be reverent in behavior, not slanderers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things— that they admonish the young WOMEN to love their husbands, to love their children, to be discreet, chaste, homemakers, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God may not be blasphemed.”

1 Peter 3:1-2 “Wives, likewise, be submissive to your own husbands, that even if some do not obey the word, they, without a word, may be won by the conduct of their wives, when they observe your chaste conduct accompanied by fear.”

1 Peter 3:6 “as Sarah obeyed Abraham, calling him lord, whose DAUGHTERS you are if you do good and are not afraid with any terror.”

Matthew 1:3,5-6 “Judah begot Perez and Zerah by TAMAR, Perez begot Hezron, and Hezron begot Ram.” Verses 5-6 “Salmon begot Boaz by RAHAB, Boaz begot Obed by RUTH, Obed begot Jesse, and Jesse begot David the king. David the king begot Solomon by HER (BATHSHEBA) who had been the WIFE of Uriah.”

Matthew 8:14-15, Now when Jesus had come into Peter’s house, He saw his WIFE’S MOTHER lying sick with a fever. So He touched HER hand, and the fever left HER. And SHE arose and served them. Jesus heals Peter’s MOTHER-IN-LAW. (Now that’s love in action!)

Matthew 9:20-22, And suddenly, a WOMAN who had a flow of blood for twelve years came from behind and touched the hem of His garment. For SHE said to HERSELF, “If only I may touch His garment, I shall be made well.” But Jesus turned around, and when He saw HER He said, “Be of good cheer, DAUGHTER; your faith has made you well.” And the WOMAN was made well from that hour.

Matthew 9:23-26, When Jesus came into the ruler’s house, and saw the flute players and the noisy crowd wailing, He said to them, “Make room, for the GIRL is not dead, but sleeping.”And they ridiculed Him. But when the crowd was put outside, He went in and took HER by the hand, and the GIRL arose. And the report of this went out into all that land.

Matthew 12:42, The QUEEN of the South will rise up in the judgment with this generation and condemn it, for SHE came from the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and indeed a greater than Solomon is here.

Matthew 12:50, “For whoever does the will of My Father in heaven is MY brother and SISTER and MOTHER.”

Matthew 15:22-28, WOMAN who talked Jesus (God in human form) into doing something that at first He did not want to do. All we know about HER is that SHE had a DAUGHTER. We don’t even know if SHE was married. But we do know this, Jesus at first did not want to do it. The only other person that we know of that talked Jesus into doing something He didn’t want to do, was God the Father in the garden.

Matthew 19:4-5, “And He answered and said to them, “Have you not read that He who made them at the beginning ‘made them male and FEMALE,’ and said, ‘For this reason a man shall leave his father and MOTHER and be JOINED TO HIS WIFE, and the two shall BECOME ONE flesh’?”

Matthew 20:20-21, “Then the MOTHER of Zebedee’s sons came to Him with HER sons, kneeling down and asking something from Him. And He said to HER, “What do you wish?” SHE said to Him, “Grant that these two sons of mine may sit, one on Your right hand and the other on the left, in Your kingdom.” Apparently the MOTHER of James and John felt free enough to approach Jesus personally and ask a request. Maybe SHE didn’t realize that SHE wasn’t equal enough to do that. You would think that Jesus would have pointed that out to HER. Maybe He knows something that a lot of us today have missed.

Matthew 21:31 “Which of the two did the will of his father?” They said to Him, “The first.” Jesus said to them, “Assuredly, I say to you that tax collectors and HARLOTS ENTER THE KINGDOM OF GOD BEFORE YOU.”

Matthew 22:29-30 “Jesus answered and said to them, “You are mistaken, not knowing the Scriptures nor the power of God. For in the resurrection they NEITHER MARRY NOR ARE GIVEN IN MARRIAGE, but are like angels of God in heaven.” We are supposed to conduct ourselves in a way that reflects the will of God to be carried out on earth as it is in heaven. Contrary to popular belief, there are no such things as male and FEMALE angels or spirits. The term “Sons of God” is gender non-specific.

Matthew 27:55-56, “And many WOMEN who followed Jesus from Galilee, MINISTERING TO HIM, were there looking on from afar, among whom were MARY MAGDALENE, MARY the MOTHER of James and Joses, and the MOTHER of Zebedee’s sons.”

Matthew 28:1, “Now after the Sabbath, as the first day of the week began to dawn, MARY MAGDALENE and the other MARY came to see the tomb.”

Matthew 28:5-9, “But the angel answered and said to the WOMEN, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified. He is not here; for He is risen, as He said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay. And go quickly and tell His disciples that He is risen from the dead, and indeed He is going before you into Galilee; there you will see Him. Behold, I have told you.” So they went out quickly from the tomb with fear and great joy, and ran to bring His disciples word. And as they went to tell His disciples, behold, Jesus met them, saying, “Rejoice!” So they came and held Him by the feet and worshiped Him.” WOMEN were the first to witness the resurrection of Jesus.

Mark 3:35, “For whoever does the will of God is My brother and My SISTER AND MOTHER.”

Mark 5:25-42, Now a certain WOMAN had a flow of blood for twelve years, and had suffered many things from many physicians. SHE had spent all that SHE had and was no better, but rather grew worse. When SHE heard about Jesus, SHE came behind Him in the crowd and touched His garment. For SHE said, “If only I may touch His clothes, I shall be made well.” Immediately the fountain of HER blood was dried up, and SHE felt in HER body that SHE was healed of the affliction. And Jesus, immediately knowing in Himself that power had gone out of Him, turned around in the crowd and said, “Who touched My clothes?” But His disciples said to Him, “You see the multitude thronging You, and You say, ‘Who touched Me?’” And He looked around to see HER who had done this thing. But the WOMAN, fearing and trembling, knowing what had happened to HER, came and fell down before Him and told Him the whole truth. And He said to HER, “DAUGHTER, your faith has made you well. Go in peace, and be healed of your affliction.” While He was still speaking, some came from the ruler of the synagogue’s house who said, “Your DAUGHTER is dead. Why trouble the Teacher any further?” As soon as Jesus heard the word that was spoken, He said to the ruler of the synagogue, “Do not be afraid; only believe.” And He permitted no one to follow Him except Peter, James, and John the brother of James. Then He came to the house of the ruler of the synagogue, and saw a tumult and those who wept and wailed loudly. When He came in, He said to them, “Why make this commotion and weep? The child is not dead, but sleeping.” And they ridiculed Him. But when He had put them all outside, He took the father and the MOTHER of the child, and those who were with Him, and entered where the child was lying. Then He took the child by the hand, and said to HER, “Talitha, cumi,” which is translated, “Little GIRL, I say to you, arise.” Immediately the GIRL arose and walked, for SHE was twelve years of age. And they were overcome with great amazement.

Mark 6:3, “Is this not the carpenter, the SON OF MARY, and brother of James, Joses, Judas, and Simon? And are not His SISTERS here with us?” So they were offended at Him.”

Mark 7:24-30, “From there He arose and went to the region of Tyre and Sidon. And He entered a house and wanted no one to know it, but He could not be hidden. For a WOMAN whose young DAUGHTER had an unclean spirit heard about Him, and SHE came and fell at His feet. The WOMAN was a Greek, a Syro-Phoenician by birth, and SHE kept asking Him to cast the demon out of HER DAUGHTER. But Jesus said to HER, “Let the children be filled first, for it is not good to take the children’s bread and throw it to the little dogs.” And SHE answered and said to Him, “Yes, Lord, yet even the little dogs under the table eat from the children’s crumbs.” Then He said to HER, “For this saying go your way; the demon has gone out of your DAUGHTER.” And when SHE had come to HER house, SHE found the demon gone out, and HER DAUGHTER lying on the bed.” Again we want to point out here is a WOMAN who talked Jesus into doing something He didn’t originally want to do.

Mark 10:6-8, “But from the beginning of the creation, God ‘made them male and FEMALE. For this reason a man shall leave his father and MOTHER and be joined to his WIFE, and the two shall become one flesh’; so then they are no longer two, BUT ONE FLESH.”

Mark 10:29-30, “So Jesus answered and said, “Assuredly, I say to you, there is no one who has left house or brothers or SISTERS or father or MOTHER or WIFE or children or lands, for My sake and the gospel’s, who shall not receive a hundredfold now in this time—houses and brothers and SISTERS and MOTHERS and children and lands, with persecutions—and in the age to come, eternal life.” The point here is that Jesus mentioned both WOMEN and men.

Mark 12:19-25, “Teacher, Moses wrote to us that if a man’s brother dies, and leaves his WIFE behind, and leaves no children, his brother should take his WIFE and raise up offspring for his brother. Now there were seven brothers. The first took a WIFE; and dying, he left no offspring. And the second took HER, and he died; nor did he leave any offspring. And the third likewise. So the seven had HER and left no offspring. Last of all the WOMAN died also. Therefore, in the resurrection, when they rise, whose WIFE will SHE be? For all seven had HER as WIFE.” Jesus answered and said to them, “Are you not therefore mistaken, because you do not know the Scriptures nor the power of God? For when they rise from the dead, they neither marry nor are given in marriage, but are like angels in heaven.” Sorry Mormons and Muslims. There are no marriages in heaven because there is neither male nor FEMALE.

Mark 12:42-44, Then one poor WIDOW came and threw in two mites, which make a quadrans. So He called His disciples to Himself and said to them, “Assuredly, I say to you that this poor WIDOW has put in more than all those who have given to the treasury; for they all put in out of their abundance, but SHE out of HER poverty put in all that SHE had, HER whole livelihood.”

Mark 14:3-9, And being in Bethany at the house of Simon the leper, as He sat at the table, a WOMAN came having an alabaster flask of very costly oil of spikenard. Then SHE broke the flask and poured it on His head. But there were some who were indignant among themselves, and said, “Why was this fragrant oil wasted? For it might have been sold for more than three hundred denarii and given to the poor.” And they criticized HER sharply. But Jesus said, “Let HER alone. Why do you trouble HER? SHE has done a good work for Me. For you have the poor with you always, and whenever you wish you may do them good; but Me you do not have always. SHE has done what SHE could. SHE has come beforehand to anoint My body for burial. Assuredly, I say to you, wherever this gospel is preached in the whole world, what this WOMAN has done will also be told as a memorial to HER.”

Mark 15:40-41, There were also WOMEN looking on from afar, among whom were MARY MAGDALENE, MARY the MOTHER of James the Less and of Joses, and SALOME, who also followed Him and ministered to Him when He was in Galilee, and many other WOMEN who came up with Him to Jerusalem.

Mark 15:47, And MARY MAGDALENE and MARY the MOTHER of Joses observed where He was laid.

Mark 16:1-6, Now when the Sabbath was past, MARY MAGDALENE, MARY the MOTHER of James, and SALOME bought spices, that they might come and anoint Him. Very early in the morning, on the first day of the week, they came to the tomb when the sun had risen. And they said among themselves, “Who will roll away the stone from the door of the tomb for us?” But when they looked up, they saw that the stone had been rolled away—for it was very large. And entering the tomb, they saw a young man clothed in a long white robe sitting on the right side; and they were alarmed. But he said to them, “Do not be alarmed. You seek Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He is risen! He is not here. See the place where they laid Him.

Mark 16:9-11, Now when He rose early on the first day of the week, He appeared first to MARY MAGDALENE, out of whom He had cast seven demons. SHE went and told those who had been with Him, as they mourned and wept. And when they heard that He was alive and had been seen by HER, they did not believe.

Mark 16:14 Later He appeared to the eleven as they sat at the table; and He rebuked their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they did not believe THOSE (WOMEN) who had seen Him after He had risen.

Luke 1:6-7 And they were both righteous before God, walking in all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord blameless. But they had no child, because ELIZABETH was barren, and they were both well advanced in years.

Luke 1:13  But the angel said to him, “Do not be afraid, Zacharias, for your prayer is heard; and your WIFE ELIZABETH will bear you a son, and you shall call his name John.

Luke 1:15  For he will be great in the sight of the Lord, and shall drink neither wine nor strong drink. He will also be filled with the Holy Spirit, even from his MOTHER’s womb.

Luke 1:24-25 Now after those days his WIFE ELIZABETH conceived; and SHE hid HERSELF five months, saying, “Thus the Lord has dealt with me, in the days when He looked on me, to take away my reproach among people.”

Luke 1:26-60 Now in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent by God to a city of Galilee named Nazareth, to a virgin betrothed to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David. The virgin’s name was MARY……… Too many to print out. Read it for yourself.

Luke 2:5-7 to be registered with MARY, his betrothed WIFE, who was with child. So it was, that while they were there, the days were completed for HER to be delivered. And SHE brought forth HER firstborn Son, and wrapped Him in swaddling cloths, and laid Him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.

Luke 2:16 And they came with haste and found MARY and Joseph, and the Babe lying in a manger.

Luke 2:19 But MARY kept all these things and pondered them in HER heart.

Luke 2:33-38 And Joseph and His MOTHER marveled at those things which were spoken of Him….Too many to print out. Read it for yourself.

Luke 4:38-39 Now He arose from the synagogue and entered Simon’s house. But Simon’s WIFE’s MOTHER was sick with a high fever, and they made request of Him concerning HER. So He stood over HER and rebuked the fever, and it left HER. And immediately SHE arose and served them.

Luke 7:12-15 And when He came near the gate of the city, behold, a dead man was being carried out, the only son of his MOTHER; and SHE was a widow. And a large crowd from the city was with HER. When the Lord saw HER, He had compassion on HER and said to HER, “Do not weep.” Then He came and touched the open coffin, and those who carried him stood still. And He said, “Young man, I say to you, arise.” So he who was dead sat up and began to speak. And He presented him to his MOTHER.

Luke 7:28 “For I say to you, among those born of WOMEN there is not a greater prophet than John the Baptist; but he who is least in the kingdom of God is greater than he.”

Luke 8:1-3 and certain WOMEN who had been healed of evil spirits and infirmities—MARY called Magdalene, out of whom had come seven demons, and JOANNA the WIFE of Chuza, Herod’s steward, and SUSANNA, and many others who provided for Him from their substance.

Luke 8:19-21 Then His MOTHER and brothers came to Him, and could not approach Him because of the crowd. And it was told Him by some, who said, “Your MOTHER and Your brothers are standing outside, desiring to see You.” But He answered and said to them, “My MOTHER and My brothers are these who hear the word of God and do it.”

Luke 8:42-56 for he had an only DAUGHTER about twelve years of age, and SHE was dying. But as He went, the multitudes thronged Him…… Too many to print out. Read it for yourself.

Luke 10:38-42 Now it happened as they went that He entered a certain village; and a certain WOMAN named MARTHA welcomed Him into HER house. And SHE had a SISTER called MARY, who also sat at Jesus’ feet and heard His word. But MARTHA was distracted with much serving, and SHE approached Him and said, “Lord, do You not care that my SISTER has left me to serve alone? Therefore tell HER to help me.” And Jesus answered and said to her, “MARTHA, MARTHA, you are worried and troubled about many things. But one thing is needed, and MARY has chosen that good part, which will not be taken away from HER.”

Luke 11:31 The QUEEN of the South will rise up in the judgment with the MEN of this generation and condemn THEM, for SHE came from the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and indeed a greater than Solomon is here.

Luke 13:11-13 And behold, there was a WOMAN who had a spirit of infirmity eighteen years, and was bent over and could in no way raise HERSELF up. But when Jesus saw HER, He called HER to Him and said to HER, “WOMAN, you are loosed from your infirmity.” And He laid His hands on HER, and immediately SHE was made straight, and glorified God.

Luke 18:3-5 Now there was a widow in that city; and SHE came to him, saying, ‘Get justice for me from my adversary.’ And he would not for a while; but afterward he said within himself, ‘Though I do not fear God nor regard man, yet because this widow troubles me I will avenge HER, lest by HER continual coming SHE weary me.’”

Luke 23:27-31 And a great multitude of the people followed Him, and WOMEN who also mourned and lamented Him. But Jesus, turning to them, said, “DAUGHTERS of Jerusalem, do not weep for Me, but weep for yourselves and for your children. For indeed the days are coming in which they will say, ‘Blessed are the barren, wombs that never bore, and breasts which never nursed!’ Then they will begin ‘to say to the mountains, “Fall on us!” and to the hills, “Cover us!”’ For if they do these things in the green wood, what will be done in the dry?”

Luke 23:55-56 And the WOMEN who had come with Him from Galilee followed after, and THEY observed the tomb and how His body was laid. Then THEY returned and prepared spices and fragrant oils. And THEY rested on the Sabbath according to the commandment.

Luke 24:1-11 Now on the first day of the week, very early in the morning, THEY, and certain other WOMEN with them, came to the tomb bringing the spices which THEY had prepared….Too many to print out. Read it for yourself.

Luke 24:22-23 Yes, and certain WOMEN of our company, who arrived at the tomb early, astonished us. When they did not find His body, they came saying that they had also seen a vision of angels who said He was alive.

John 2:5 His MOTHER said to the servants, “Whatever He says to you, do it.(His MOTHER today is still saying “Whatever He says to you, do it.”)

John 4:9-30 Then the WOMAN of Samaria said to Him, “How is it that You, being a Jew, ask a drink from me, a Samaritan WOMAN?” For Jews have no dealings with Samaritans…. Too many to print out. Read it for yourself.

John 4:39 And many of the Samaritans of that city believed in Him because of the word of the WOMAN who testified, “He told me all that I ever did.” (It’s a good thing that SHE hadn’t been to many Christian churches because they would have told HER that SHE should keep quiet about Jesus.)

John 8:3-11 Then the scribes and Pharisees brought to Him a WOMAN caught in adultery. And when they had set HER in the midst, they said to Him, “Teacher, this WOMAN was caught in adultery, in the very act. Now Moses, in the law, commanded us that such should be stoned. But what do You say?” This they said, testing Him, that they might have something of which to accuse Him. But Jesus stooped down and wrote on the ground with His finger, as though He did not hear. So when they continued asking Him, He raised Himself up and said to them, “He who is without sin among you, let him throw a stone at HER first.” And again He stooped down and wrote on the ground. Then those who heard it, being convicted by their conscience, went out one by one, beginning with the oldest even to the last. And Jesus was left alone, and the WOMAN standing in the midst. When Jesus had raised Himself up and saw no one but the WOMAN, He said to HER, “WOMAN, where are those accusers of yours? Has no one condemned you?” SHE said, “No one, Lord.” And Jesus said to HER, “Neither do I condemn you; go and sin no more.” (Isn’t it interesting that the Pharisees only brought the WOMAN? The act of adultery involves two people, not one. Apparently the man got a pass from the Pharisees because he was enticed by the WOMAN against his will. Because we all know that WOMEN have magical powers to make men do things against their will. That’s why most of the world’s leaders are WOMEN, aren’t they?)

John 11:1-5 Now a certain man was sick, Lazarus of Bethany, the town of MARY and HER SISTER MARTHA. It was that MARY who anointed the Lord with fragrant oil and wiped His feet with HER hair, whose brother Lazarus was sick. Therefore the SISTERS sent to Him, saying, “Lord, behold, he whom You love is sick.” When Jesus heard that, He said, “This sickness is not unto death, but for the glory of God, that the Son of God may be glorified through it.” Now Jesus loved MARTHA and HER SISTER and Lazarus. So, when He heard that he was sick, He stayed two more days in the place where He was. Then after this He said to the disciples, “Let us go to Judea again.”

John 11:19-40 Too many to print out. Read it for yourself.

John 11:45 Then many of the Jews who had come to MARY, and had seen the things Jesus did, believed in Him.

John 12:2-3 There they made Him a supper; and MARTHA served, but Lazarus was one of those who sat at the table with Him. Then MARY took a pound of very costly oil of spikenard, anointed the feet of Jesus, and wiped His feet with HER hair. And the house was filled with the fragrance of the oil.

John 12:7-8 But Jesus said, “Let HER alone; SHE has kept this for the day of My burial. For the poor you have with you always, but Me you do not have always.”

John 19:25 Now there stood by the cross of Jesus His MOTHER, and His MOTHER’S SISTER, MARY the WIFE of Clopas, and MARY MAGDALENE.

John 20:1-2 Now on the first day of the week MARY MAGDALENE went to the tomb early, while it was still dark, and saw that the stone had been taken away from the tomb. Then SHE ran and came to Simon Peter, and to the other disciple, whom Jesus loved, and said to them, “They have taken away the Lord out of the tomb, and we do not know where they have laid Him.”

John 20:11-18 Too many to print out. Read it for yourself.

Acts 1:14 “These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication, WITH THE WOMEN AND MARY the MOTHER of Jesus, and with His brothers.”

Acts 2:17-18 “‘And it shall come to pass in the last days, says God, that I will pour out of My Spirit on all flesh; your sons and YOUR DAUGHTERS shall prophesy, your young men shall see visions, your old men shall dream dreams. And on My menservants and on MY MAIDSERVANTS I will pour out My Spirit in those days; and THEY shall prophesy.”

Acts 16:13-15 “And on the Sabbath day we went out of the city to the riverside, where prayer was customarily made; and we sat down and spoke to the WOMEN who met there. Now A CERTAIN WOMAN NAMED LYDIA heard us. SHE was a seller of purple from the city of Thyatira, who worshiped God. The Lord opened HER heart to heed the things spoken by Paul. And when SHE and HER household were baptized, SHE begged us, saying, “If you have judged me to be faithful to the Lord, come to my house and stay.” So SHE persuaded us.

Acts 17:12 “Therefore many of them believed, and also not a few of the Greeks, PROMINENT WOMEN as well as men.”

Acts 18:26 “So he began to speak boldly in the synagogue. When Aquila and PRISCILLA heard him, they took him aside and explained to him the way of God more accurately.”

Acts 21:8-9 “On the next day we who were Paul’s companions departed and came to Caesarea, and entered the house of Philip the evangelist, who was one of the seven, and stayed with him. Now this man had four virgin DAUGHTERS who prophesied.”

Romans 16:1-3 “I commend to you PHOEBE OUR SISTER, who is a servant of the church in Cenchrea, that you may receive HER in the Lord in a manner worthy of the saints, and assist HER in whatever business SHE has need of you; for indeed SHE has been a helper of many and of myself also. Greet PRISCILLA and Aquila, my fellow workers in Christ Jesus,”

Romans 16:6 -7 Greet MARY, who labored much for us. Greet Andronicus and JUNIA, my countrymen and my fellow prisoners, who are of note among the apostles, who also were in Christ before me.

Romans 16:12 Greet TRYPHENA and TRYPHOSA, who have labored in the Lord. Greet the beloved PERSIS, who labored much in the Lord.

Romans 16:13 Greet Rufus, chosen in the Lord, and his MOTHER and mine.

Romans 16:15 Greet Philologus and JULIA, Nereus and HIS SISTER, and Olympas, and all the saints who are with them.

1 Corinthians 11:11-12 “Nevertheless, neither is man independent of WOMAN, nor WOMAN independent of man, in the Lord. For as WOMAN came from man, even so man also comes through WOMAN; but all things are from God.”

1 Corinthians 16:19-20 “The churches of Asia greet you. Aquila and PRISCILLA greet you heartily in the Lord, with the church that is in THEIR house.  All the brethren greet you.”

2 Corinthians 6:16-18 “And what agreement has the temple of God with idols? For you are the temple of the living God. As God has said: “I will dwell in them and walk among them. I will be their God, and they shall be My people.” Therefore “Come out from among them and be separate, says the Lord. Do not touch what is unclean, and I will receive you.” “I will be a Father to you, and you shall be My sons and DAUGHTERS, says the Lord Almighty.”

Galatians 3:28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is NEITHER MALE NOR FEMALE; for you are all one in Christ Jesus.”

Ephesians 5:30 “For WE are members of His body, of His flesh and of His bones.”

Philippians 4:3 “And I urge you also, true companion, help THESE WOMEN WHO LABORED WITH ME IN THE GOSPEL, WITH CLEMENT ALSO, and the rest of my fellow workers, whose NAMES ARE IN THE BOOK OF LIFE.”

2 Timothy 4:19 “Greet PRISCILLA and Aquila, and the household of Onesiphorus.”

Hebrews 11:31 “By faith THE HARLOT (PROSTITUTE) RAHAB DID NOT PERISH WITH THOSE WHO DID NOT BELIEVE, when SHE had received the spies with peace.”

Hebrews 11:35 “WOMEN received their dead raised to life again….”

James 2:25 “Likewise, was not RAHAB THE HARLOT (PROSTITUTE) also justified by works (actions) when SHE received the messengers and sent them out another way?”

I Peter 3:7 “Husbands, likewise, dwell with them with understanding, giving honor to the WIFE, as to the weaker vessel, (Yes, generally speaking men are physically stronger than WOMEN.)  and as being HEIRS TOGETHER of the grace of life, that your prayers may not be hindered.” (If the husband’s prayer are not being answered this might be the reason why. If you are not getting what you pray for, you’re doing something wrong dude!)

2 John 1:1,5,10,13 “The Elder, To the ELECT LADY and HER children, whom I love in truth, and not only I, but also all those who have known the truth,” Verse 5 “And now I plead with you, LADY, not as though I wrote a new commandment to you, but that which we have had from the beginning: that we love one another. Verse 10 “If anyone comes to YOU and does not bring this doctrine, do not receive him into YOUR HOUSE (this is where SHE held church at) nor greet him;” Verse 13 “The children of your ELECT SISTER greet you. Amen.”

342 Verses

You will notice that there are 21 verses that on the surface appear to imply that men are superior to WOMEN. You will also notice that there are 342 verses which elevate WOMEN to a place of equality with men. In a court of human law, the preponderance of evidence (the weight of the evidence) comes down on the side of the New Testament idea that men and WOMEN are to be considered EQUAL in every aspect of life.

Again, we want to make two points abundantly clear. Point #1 is God’s original intention was for the first couple to rule and reign together on this world that He created. That was the intent, but it got short circuited by a “talking two-legged serpent”. The aftermath of this was that males ascended to dominate and to control day to day life by whatever means necessary. And what a great job we did (because I’m a man). It is so rare that in human history a WOMAN starts a war that we remember HER name, like Cleopatra. Because of humankinds rebellion against God, by siding with the talking two-legged serpent, the old covenant (Old Testament) came into existence. The whole idea behind men being spiritually superior to WOMEN is an Old Testament idea. Under the Old Testament WOMEN could not hold a place of authority in spiritual matters (with the exception of Deborah, SHE was God’s judge or mouthpiece on planet Earth at that time). And if the Old Testament was enough to bring us into a right relationship with God then we didn’t need Jesus AND WE NEED JESUS more than we need life itself.

Point #2 is that Almighty God through the agonizing, bloody, more pain than a human can possibly endure, sacrifice of His Son JESUS on that cross provided a way that all of us, male and FEMALE, can boldly approach the throne of heaven and speak with our Heavenly Father as His DAUGHTERs and sons. We are talking about a relationship NOT a religion. Religions enslave. Relationships empower.

Now after you prayerfully search out these scriptures and you still you believe that men are spiritually superior to WOMEN, please do all of us a big favor. Since over 40% of the heads of single households in America are WOMEN, keep your non-New Testament ideas to yourself. Because what you are saying in essence, to all the single Moms out there, is that having JESUS is not enough. They need to get married so that God will accept them. REALLY?!
