answer to prayer

answer to prayer

You should get what you pray for. Does that idea shock you? If it does, it’s not your fault that it shocks you. You’ve just been given a lot of misinformation by people who have had years of misinformation pumped into them. Do you remember the saying, “garbage in, garbage out”? That saying refers to what happens when you put misinformation into a computer. Let’s say your annual income is $25,000, but whoever is putting in the data types in $28,000. Unless you correct it, you’re going to owe the IRS more money. Isn’t that a happy thought? Have you ever set your watch to alarm at 12:00 noon? Well, at least that was your intent. Your watch didn’t read your mind and went off at 12:00 midnight. STUPID WATCH! And until you correct it, wherever you are, you will know when it is midnight. STUPID WATCH!

Set Watch

The point is your brain is the most complex computer that has ever been created. And once misinformation is programmed into your computer, no matter how many times the same situation comes up you will always respond the wrong way unless YOU put the correct information in. Especially if that information comes from an “expert”, someone who is supposed to know what they are talking about. This is one of the many pitfalls of “religious” teaching. Chances are somewhere along the line you either heard, or it was heavily implied, that you’re NOT supposed to get what you pray for.

Brain complex

Well, let’s go to the “owner’s manual” and see what it says. We are only dealing with petition prayer, one of several different types of prayer. Petition prayer is the most basic type of prayer in order that your “joy may be full”.

the Bible says

Pray out loud not think

In John 15:7 Jesus said (you know the guy that never lies), “If YOU abide in ME, and MY WORDS abide in YOU, YOU will ask WHAT YOU DESIRE, and IT SHALL BE DONE FOR YOU.”

In John 16:23-24 Jesus said “And in that day (after He ascended to heaven) you will ask Me nothing. Most assuredly, I say to you, WHATEVER YOU ASK THE FATHER IN MY NAME HE WILL GIVE YOU. Until now you have asked nothing in My name. ASK, and YOU WILL RECEIVE, that your JOY MAY BE FULL.”

Joy may be full

1 John 3:22-23, “And WHATEVER WE ASK WE RECEIVE FROM HIM, because we keep His commandments and do those things that are pleasing in His sight. And this is His commandment: that we should believe on THE NAME OF HIS SON JESUS CHRIST AND LOVE ONE ANOTHER, as He gave us commandment.”

1 John 5:13-15 “These things I have written to you who BELIEVE IN THE NAME OF THE SON OF GOD (JESUS), that you may know that you have eternal life, and THAT YOU MAY CONTINUE TO BELIEVE IN THE NAME OF THE SON OF GOD (JESUS). Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ASK ANYTHING according to His will (and His will is that we ask in the name of JESUS), He hears us. And if we KNOW that He hears us, WHATEVER WE ASK, we KNOW that WE HAVE THE PETITIONS that WE HAVE ASKED of Him.”

Do you kinda notice a theme here?

Philippians 4:6-7 says, “Be anxious for nothing (don’t worry about it!), but in everything by prayer and supplication, WITH THANKSGIVING, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” The more THANKSGIVING you give, the STRONGER THE PEACE will become.

do not be anxious

That’s pretty much it in a nutshell. It’s not really all that complicated. It gets complicated when we overthink it, go by what somebody has told us what their “experience” was, try to figure out how He is going to do it, or we “spiritualize” what the Bible says. By spiritualize we mean get so “religious” about it, it doesn’t do any earthly good.

Some examples:

My wife wanted a “good” piano for a certain amount of money. She did not want an electric piano, she had one of those or a free upright, there’s a reason they are free. She got the scriptures together that said “ask and you will receive” and she asked “in the name of Jesus” for a piano so her “joy would be full”. After a couple of months and diligently seeking (checking newspaper, auctions, etc.) she got it! And it didn’t need tuning after it was moved!

joy may be full

Or the time she prayed for a car without debt (free). Guess what? She got it (so we wouldn’t have to ride together). Just kidding. I really love having her around and I hope she feels the same way about me. You do, don’t ya? Dear? Honey?

Anyway, whenever we want something, we get the scriptures together and do what they say to do. And guess what? We get what we pray for and so should you.

We could tell you about seemingly impossible things that have occurred through us doing what we are telling you to do. Some of them you would probably have a hard time believing. At times we have a hard time believing it actually happened. Our minds want to say, “It was just a coincidence.” That is a RELIGIOUS MINDSET. That is giving glory to something other than Jesus,  the Living Word. It is way past time for you to stop looking and listening to religious leaders and others (even Mom, Dad, Grandma, Grandpa, family and friends) for guidance. Always keep this in mind, if you are born again, you are in a relationship, not a religion. And what good parent would not want the best for their offspring?

If you will do the exact same thing that we do, you will get the exact same results. Unless of course, God loves us more than you. LOL He is not a respecter of persons (Romans 2:11).

  1. Get what you pray for? That is radical.

I was raised in a church that if it wasn’t a “need” you didn’t need it. I guess they didn’t see the scripture about your “joy may be full”.

I think most people’s problem is they don’t know what God’s will is. I agree with you HAVE to KNOW what His will is or you won’t receive anything. If you think something is frivolous and He may or may not answer it, it probably won’t be answered. OR they don’t want to do what it takes to get the prayer answered, look up scriptures, thanksgiving, not worry, etc. I think most people ask for things on a whim and not really put time, thought and prayer towards it.

Going back to knowing God’s will, my Mom told me about a person in her church that was praying for someone to get divorced so they could marry them. REALLY! Not God’s will!

Thank you for the insight. Keep up the great work.

    1. Dear Faye,

Thank you very much for your comment.

Unfortunately your Mom’s experience is not an isolated one. Over the years I heard some of the most ridiculous things people have prayed for that never happened. Why? Because they didn’t know what the New Testament says on the subject.

There’s another big hindrance to answered prayer, which is even worse than ignorance, it is not properly understanding the relationship between God the Father and the new birth. Many people have this insane idea that whatever happens in their life is the will of God. It is one of the biggest lies that has ever come out of the kingdom of darkness. And it’s truly heart breaking to hear many people blame God for calamities that happen in their lives. Recently we had the misfortune of attending a funeral for a young mother of 2 children in her late 30’s. The “minister” said something to the effect that God had taken her from us. Yes, that’s what God does. He goes around killing young mothers and making their kids orphans. That is the most insane, demonic, ludicrous idea that is being passed as “God’s will”. Not according to the words of JESUS (See John 10:10).

If you ever wonder why a person is an atheist just look at what we have told them. We have told them that war, famine, sickness, death, natural disasters, and a host of other horrible things all come from a loving and kind “Heavenly Father”. Then we want them to believe in Him. They’re Atheists, not idiots. Every nation has laws against parents who sit back and do nothing to keep their children from experiencing harm. It is referred to as “Parental Neglect”. Sometimes I can’t help but think to myself, “Are they talking about God the Father or the “Godfather”?”

      Thanks again.
